VDX Player - Video player has a clean and simple user interface that displays your media in either folder or list layout. It supports all popular file formats and resolutions up to 8K. While watching, you have options to zoom in and out, speed up playback, or invert videos. You can even enable popup play, which is akin to picture-in-picture mode when you're doing something else.
The playback screen is equally minimalistic and gets out of your way while watching. However, it still offers various advanced customization features, including picture adjustment for contrast, saturation, and the like, as well as a built-in equalizer for changing the sound to your liking. It even supports network playback for when you're connected to your own private servers utilizing FTP or SMB protocols.
Other notable features included in this app are Chromecast support, integration with various cloud services like Google Drive or Dropbox, and the ability to stream and download videos with just a URL. Speaking of the latter, the app has oddly omitted a way to check the status of downloads for some reason. Also, in case your internet connection gets interrupted, there’s no way to resume downloads, which is a waste of bandwidth.
